Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting practices and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a well-organized clinical environment while adhering to the highest standards of safety and hygiene.
Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, endodontics, and prosthodontics, ensuring optimal patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are sterilized and ready for use.
- Perform chairside assisting duties while utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Take and develop X-rays as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation accurately, utilizing EMR systems such as Dentrix and Eaglesoft for efficient record-keeping.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions to promote overall health.
- Monitor vital signs as required during procedures, maintaining awareness of any changes in patient condition.
- Uphold infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment for both patients and staff.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is essential, with familiarity in pediatric dentistry being highly desirable.
- Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to effectively communicate with the dental team and patients.
- Experience with medical imaging technologies such as 3D scanners is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical coding practices related to dental procedures is preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team while fostering a positive atmosphere for both staff and patients.
