    Summary About the Position:

    This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f.

    Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction This position is located at Fort Meade, MD. Responsibilities Perform a broad range of operations research analysis (ORA) assignments entailing unique force management and assessment problems. Analyze and advise on feasibility of advanced analytical approaches in addressing the division's information requirements.

    Serve as an expert on use of modeling and simulation techniques to capture and evaluate anticipated cyberspace operations contingency planning.

    Develop models to test, analyze, and evaluate algorithms and other logic.

    Analyze problems revealed by application of findings from prior studies and advises the supervisor and other reporting seniors of the feasibility of different approaches Represent the division and J9 while attending meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to cyberspace operations program planning and assessment, and force management.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social).

    You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Basic Education Requirement for Operation Research Analyst:

    Degree:

    Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics.

    At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

    In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, to qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

    Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1. identifying courses of action to address information/cyberspace requirements such as force management, planning and allocation; 2. utilizing analytical research methods to develop solutions to information/cyberspace problems; 3. collaborating with relevant stakeholders to evaluate force management performance metrics.


    Education FOREIGN EDUCATION:

    If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S.
