- Manages the operations of a large unit or multiple units. Ensures Assistants and staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborates with healthcare providers in establishing, implementing, and maintaining patient care standards.
- Acts as a patient advocate to resolve care issues.
- Designs and evaluates processes to enhance systems and patient care results.
- Develops and monitors budgets and resource allocations.
- Monitors financial performance, implementing strategies to cut costs and enhance care quality.
- Determines staff mix, oversees staff development, and manages HR issues.
- Develops, implements, and monitors departmental policies supporting organizational goals.
- Kaiser Permanente conducts periodic compensation reviews and reserves the right to modify positions.
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in leadership positions.
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field, or four (4) years experience in a related field.
- California RN License and Basic Life Support certification.
- PALS, PEARS, and/or ACLS certifications may be needed for specific roles.
- Knowledge of regulations and strong communication skills required.
- Experience in a labor/management partnership environment.
- Minimum three (3) years of outpatient care experience.
- Clinical specialization in practice area.
- Master's degree preferred.
