    What you'll do on a typical day:

    • Oversee the income tax provision to ensure compliance with AC 740 and all SEC reporting obligations for quarterly and annual financial statements
    • Document and maintain SOX controls for income tax processes
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals, promoting a high-performance work environment
    • Assist VP, Tax with project management of transactions and/or planning opportunities
    • Oversee research and technical memorandums for the department
    • Maintain tax department budget and identify opportunities for EBITDA savings
    • Manage relationships and processes with third-party providers
    • Oversee tax compliance the process for federal, state, and US International
    • Collaborate closely with accounting, finance, and management to ensure strategic alignment of the tax function with other business units
    • Monitor developments in tax accounting under ASC 740 and communicate to management
    • Monitor legislative updates and model potential impacts

    What you need to succeed at XPO:

    At a minimum, you'll need:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • 7 years of accounting and/or tax experience in multi-state and multinational environments
    • ASC 740, SEC reporting, and tax compliance preparation and review experience
    • Strong knowledge of OneSource software or equivalent; thorough knowledge of Oracle and HFM accounting software
    • Demonstrated ability to perform tax research and develop internal tax strategies and opinions
    • Knowledge of accounting principles related to accounting for income taxes under U.S. GAAP and SEC rules and regulations as well as financial accounting as it pertains to tax return/provision preparation
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to create complex formulas in Excel

    It'd be great if you also have:

    • Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
    • CPA certification
    • Experience with Alteryx
