Lead, organize, and coordinate all manufacturing warehouse activities across two shifts. Maintain responsibility for achieving objects concerning safety, quality, service, inventory, and cost including operational efficiency.
Interface collaboratively with Materials Manager, Operational Managers, and support staff including cross departmental teams supporting corporate, departmental and manufacturing objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
Develops a successful team through coaching, mentoring, and promoting teamwork. Fosters a spirit of unity among location and employee work areas.
Must be capable of evaluating, reporting, and modifying warehouse performance to meet corporate, department and location goals.
Recommends and implements staffing plans for the shifts and work areas to meet monthly operational requirements.
Assures new employee training is completed and on boarding experience is successful. Maintains training program for material handling personnel to promote continued development.
Helps develop and implement strategy to achieve departmental objectives.
Plans and directs Materials daily activities including but not limited to:
Shipment to DC and accuracy of shipments
Inventory Control and accuracy of inventory.
Inbound Receiving and accuracy
Material transfer accuracy
Warehouse location management
Parts and Service fulfillment
Regulations of material handling equipment
Maintains time and attendance, and other performance records.
Coordinates fulfillment and material delivery based on schedule commitments.
Manage workload delegation throughout assigned work groups, ensuring to most effective use of location resources ensuring successful completion of Larson Manufacturing job assignments.
Review and analyze performance in areas of safety, material accuracy, efficiency, service levels, supplier report cards to maintain customer service stands and benchmarks relative to operational efficiency.
Oversees the quality inspection process of inbound and outbound materials, validating quantity, color and conformance to specifications. Assures reporting process is completed timely to procurement and quality departments.Fosters a work environment and culture of continuous improvement. Work with team to generate process improvements and establish best practices. Implements procedures to support these objectives.
Leads operational safety focus. Assures safety plans are established and communicated to all personnel. Advises and ensures location compliance with OSHA standards.
Works collaboratively with maintenance staff with compliance and responsibilities of equipment, facility and grounds maintenance and repair.
Maintains a flexible work schedule supporting interaction and leadership involvement across two shifts.
Knowledge of:
Lean
Continuous Process improvement methodology
Manufacturing/ Materials basics
Material movement principles/ processes
Material handling equipment including but not limited to: Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Combi Lifts and hoist/crane
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Associate degree in Business or business-related field.
Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing Supervisory experience
Strong understanding of how to balance the focus on continuous improvement with safety, health, and environmental business requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, problem solving, delegation, and conflict resolution skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills
