    Description

    The Waterpark Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Waterpark Maintenance Manager in day-to-day operations of the Waterpark as well as maintaining all equipment associated with it. This position is additionally responsible for providing basic supervisory duties with regard to Water Technician staff members.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

  • Maintains dress and appearance in accordance with park uniform and employee handbook regulations.
  • Supervises water tech personnel
  • Performs and supervises maintenance tasks as directed by the maintenance manager
  • Tests water – follows rules for conducting testing.
  • Has a working knowledge and understanding of pool chemistry.
  • Treats water and applies chemicals (with proper licensing).
  • Uses basic skills of carpentry, plumbing, painting and light electrical.
  • Has a knowledge of, and willingness to practice, standard shop safety.
  • Safely and correctly uses all hand and power tools.
  • Performs troubleshooting techniques.
  • Performs HVAC computer operations.
  • Performs Air Handler operations.
  • Possesses, or obtains, knowledge of all park equipment operations and locations.
  • Works in water and underwater conditions.
  • Provides quality workmanship and pride in the facility.
  • Assists guests in a polite manner.
  • Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Directly supervises 2~ employees in the Waterpark Maintenance department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Candidates should be familiar with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word as well as able to use the internet to research, locate and order parts via online vendor systems.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    Candidates must be CPO Certified Pool Operator and possess a trade school certificate in HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical/Mechanical.

    OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Strong organizational skills are a must. Candidates must e able to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with varying forms of equipment.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds or more. Specific vision requirements of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid (non-weather) conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
