- Outpatient hematology/oncology clinic attached to a hospital, with 24 clinic rooms and approximately 250 patients seen per day
- Adult patient population including all cancer types: solid tumor, hematology, GYN, brain, and more
- Navigator role partnered with 1-2 physicians, providing education to approximately 2-3 patients per day in addition to other duties
- Approximately 90% of the role involves phone triage and in-basket management, including prescription refills, patient questions, lab reviews, and scheduling
- Frequent communication with insurance companies, physicians, and pharmaceutical companies
- EMR: Epic required; ambulatory Epic experience highly preferred
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8-hour day shifts from 0800–1630
- No weekend rotation and no on-call responsibilities
- Clinic is closed on major holidays
- No floating required
- Supported by a robust team including 3 radiation oncologists, 1 GYN oncologist, 7 medical oncologists, 6 APPs, a clinical pharmacist specializing in oral chemotherapy, CAs/MAs, scheduling support, 1 other navigator, and management
- The on-site pharmacist will join the RN for oral chemotherapy patient education
- Orientation includes new employee orientation (NEO) followed by unit-specific orientation for the remainder of the first week
- Navy blue scrubs or business casual attire required
- Free parking available on site
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- RTO requests must be approved by the manager
- Active RN license (South Dakota or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS required
- ONS or OCN certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of outpatient or ambulatory oncology experience required; acute-care-only oncology experience will not be accepted
- At least 1 year of recent Epic experience required; ambulatory Epic experience highly preferred
- At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Must be comfortable providing patient education for oral chemotherapy and knowledgeable on IV chemotherapy
- Must be comfortable working independently
- Treatment planning experience strongly preferred — please highlight this experience when applying
