    Business Unit Description

    Risk Management is led by the Senior Executive Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer (SEVP & CRO) and is accountable for the independent oversight of risks inherent in CIBC's activities and for the leadership and management of CIBC's Risk Management department.

    The US Risk Management function carries out the mandate of CIBC Risk Management at the regional level, ensuring compliance with applicable Parent Bank policies, while complying with local laws and regulations governing the Region and its individual legal entities.

    Enterprise Risk Management Programs, US Region ("ERM Programs") develops, implements, and maintains a risk management governance framework and related policies and procedures for the US Region and its individual legal entities.

    This involves the regional implementation of global CIBC programs, where applicable, and includes:
    Risk Appetite and Metrics, Risk Assessment and Program Control, Policy Governance and Risk Reporting and Innovation.

    The Program Coordinator will support multiple initiatives for the Risk Assessment and Program Control and Policy Governance leads in ERM programs.


    Responsibilities include

    • Maintain a workflow tracker for all processes and controls within ERM Programs
    • Coordinate testing of the department's controls per established control documentation. Coordinate and track resolution of identified control gaps.
    • Maintain all ERM-related policies and procedures, as well as job descriptions for all US Risk Management department heads, ensuring they are updated and properly approved and published.
    • Manage ERM Programs initiatives and deficiency remediation, including tracking progress and status of initiatives, driving execution of certain initiatives and supporting implementation where required. Focus on timely execution of projects, including resolution of conflicts, using interpretation against policies, guidelines, processes, or regulatory feedback.
    • Maintain eGRC deficiencies for ERM Programs: coordinate input of self-assessed deficiencies and risk items and monitor and respond to Internal Audit and Regulatory deficiencies in eGRC.
    • Coordinate regulatory interactions, including preparing regular and ad-hoc materials and status updates and assisting in responding to exam requests.
    • Work with the Legal Department to maintain a forward calendar for the US Risk Committee (USRC) of the Board and the risk oversight committees.
    • Support the department's Senior Records Officer and team members in complying with the Records Management policies and procedures, including proper maintenance, testing, and destruction of records
    • Oversee Enterprise Risk Management training programs.
    • Identify areas of improvement, synergy, or efficiency in the program management and execution framework and suggest path forward. Drive improvement initiatives, as necessary.

    Qualifications include

    • Bachelor's Degree (Finance of Business preferred)
    years of related experience

    • Project and/or Program Management experience is required
    • Financial Services experience is a plus
    • Strong organizational skills, detail oriented & ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
