    Description

    Seeking a Linux Systems Administrator/Engineer position. This role requires an individual that has technical experience with administering Linux servers within a cloud environment. Duties include examining system logs and task result summaries in order to identify problems and implement appropriate corrective actions. This role analyzes recurring problems and initiates solutions for preventing reoccurrence and analyzes existing infrastructure for tuning and performance enhancements. The individual in this role will be required to perform technical software configuration, rebooting, and other remedial actions on cloud servers. We are looking for an individual with focus, concentration, as well as patience and versatility to take part in all that is required to get the mission accomplished, including O&M, R&D and reverse engineering on top of existing duties.

    • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph


    • Typically requires BS degree and 12-15 years or Masters with 8-10 years of prior relevant experience of prior relevant, experience in lieu of degree


    • Experience performing system installation, configuration maintenance, patch management, and develop/maintain associated scripts as appropriate


    • Managing web certificates


    • Experience with server setup deployment, patch management methodologies


    • Experience troubleshooting issues in a growing environment


    • Experience with log reviews, incident analysis, and identification of issue trends


    • Experience with system administration of server Linus operating systems (CLSE, CentOS, RHEL)


    • Experience with supporting virtual desktops running Linux


    • Experience with programs of similar size and complexity


    • Possesses and applies expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks


    • Experience with hardening Linux environments


    • Experience with BASH


    • Experience with Scripting/Automation through Linux Shell scripts or other scripting languages


    • Experience in Amazon Web Service (AWS) cloud environment


    • Time management skills with the ability to work within an IT Service Management/ticketing system independently


    • Strong written communications skills and apt to document procedures and How-To-Do examples using tools that include Confluence


    • Track record of working effectively within a team, and support to peers toward improved processes and results


    • Must be able to work independently to develop solutions to technical problems
