    Summary:


    As the Director of Design for our real estate development group, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the aesthetic and functional aspects of our development projects.

    You will lead a team of design professionals and collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of design excellence while aligning with our strategic objectives.


    Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

    Design Leadership:
    Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the design team.

    Set the design vision and goals for each project, ensuring alignment with the overall brand identity and market positioning of our real estate developments.


    Project Planning and Conceptualization:


    Lead the conceptualization and planning phases of development projects, working closely with internal stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and design requirements.

    Develop innovative design concepts that optimize the use of space, enhance functionality, and create unique selling propositions for our properties.


    Architectural Design Oversight:
    Oversee the architectural design process, from schematic design through design development and construction documentation.

    Review and provide feedback on architectural drawings, renderings, and specifications to ensure that design intent is effectively communicated and executed.


    Interior Design and Finishes Selection : Collaborate with interior designers to curate cohesive interior design schemes that reflect the desired aesthetic, lifestyle, and target market for each project.

    Select finishes, materials, furnishings, and fixtures that enhance the overall design concept and appeal to prospective buyers or tenants.


    Design Standards and Guidelines:
    Establish and enforce design standards, guidelines, and best practices to maintain consistency and quality across all development projects. Develop design templates, pattern books, and design manuals to streamline the design process and facilitate efficient decision-making.


    Budgeting and Cost Management:


    Work closely with project managers and financial analysts to develop design budgets and manage design-related costs throughout the project lifecycle.

    Identify opportunities to optimize design solutions while adhering to budget constraints and project timelines.


    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
    Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including development teams, investors, regulatory agencies, and community members.

    Solicit feedback, address concerns, and incorporate input from stakeholders to ensure that design solutions are responsive to their needs and expectations.


    Sustainability and Innovation:
    Champion sustainable design practices and innovative technologies that enhance environmental performance, energy efficiency, and resilience of our developments. Stay abreast of emerging trends and industry best practices in sustainable design, incorporating them into our projects wherever feasible.

    Quality Assurance and Design Review:
    Conduct regular design reviews and quality assurance assessments to evaluate the progress and performance of design teams. Identify opportunities for improvement, address design-related issues, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain design integrity and excellence.


    Professional Development and Mentoring:
    Support the professional growth and development of design team members through mentorship, training, and career advancement opportunities. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.
