Die Cut Operator – Third Shift ( Sunday thru Friday 11pm thru 7am)
The Die Cut Machine Operator at a folding carton company will be responsible for following safety and GMP practices, performing tooling setups, and running quality product at efficient rates. We have 2 new Bobst 145 Mastercuts, installed 2023 and 2024 and we are expanding our third shift operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Adhere to OSHA guidelines on Safety, Hazard Mitigation, Personal Protective Equipment, and Food Safety GMP Practices.
· Able to prepare tooling before press (pre-make-ready). Pin setup and tooling inspection.
· Perform set-ups and operate die cutters for the folding carton industry.
· Troubleshoot die cutting issues, make adjustments, and run efficiently.
· Inspect scores, perfs, and cuts. Adjust as needed.
· Train other workers on the die cutting machine operations.
· Preform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) as needed.
· Aerate sheets as needed for the job.
· Ensure cleanliness of work area, ensuring GMP guidelines are consistently satisfied.
· Able to read work orders and work effectively with others in a team setting.
· Complete job tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Education: High School Diploma, GED, or relevant years of experience.
· Must have 3-5 years of die cutting experience.
· Able to perform troubleshooting to diagnose and correct problems.
· Mechanical aptitude: able to use hand tools, perform troubleshooting, and follow written work instructions or drawings.
· Understand the downstream effects of your work.
· Accurately read and use measuring devices
· Visually inspect product and equipment against set criteria.
· Able to understand heavy equipment maintenance and operations
· Able to lift and move tooling and dies weighing up to 50 pounds as necessary.
· Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting of the press.
Experience:
· Must have 3 years of experience working with die flatbed die cutting equipment such as Bobst, Iijima, Sugano, Iberica and/or Youngshin.
· Experience working in a manufacturing environment, meeting production performance indicators.
· Forklift certification is preferred but not necessary.
Job Type: Full-time 3rd Shift
Pay: $ $35.00 per hour depending on experience.
$0.50 hourly increase after the first 6 months if you have 100% attendance.
