- Ensure efficient operation of the production department by optimizing manpower, materials, equipment, and space
- Organize resources to meet production schedules and quality standards
- Supervise production team, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and procedures
- Provide on-the-job training and enforce good housekeeping practices
- Monitor production operations for compliance and efficiency, taking corrective action when needed
- Analyze and suggest improvements for production methods and cost controls
- Address team member issues and escalate to management when necessary
- Participate in safety and quality meetings, investigations, and audits
- Maintain safety standards and ensure safe working procedures in production areas
- Promote environmental management system compliance and conservation
- Document injury reports and participate in safety audits and investigations
- Conduct safety communications and complete related work orders
- Undertake miscellaneous duties as assigned by Department Manager
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to supervise, train, and motivate employees in a diverse environment
- Read and interpret safety rules, blueprints, and write routine reports
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and interpret data
- Apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems
- Proficiency in computer software programs and creating visual aids for communication
- Assist in managing the Environmental Management System and respond to environmental incidents
- Relevant experience and education in the field
- Post secondary education or equivalent experience, HS diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
- 2-3 years of supervisory experience
- ADP experience is advantageous
- Prefer candidates with logistics experience in materials management and automotive industry experience
