    FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

    REPORTS TO: Lead RF Engineer

    LOCATION: Onsite. The company HQ is Boulder, Colorado.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Test Engineer will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of engineering test plans and procedures. The ideal candidate possesses a strong combination of hardware and software knowledge with proficiencies in RF measurements, test equipment (VSAs, VSGs, VNAs, etc.), test architectures, and automation. The successful candidate will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to address company-wide hardware test needs.

    Core day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with design and test engineering teams to develop test requirements, mapping requirements to reusable test architectures and procedures, implementing test plans and procedures, and logging and presenting results to key stakeholders. The person in this role will possess the ability to architect RF test systems, to draw insightful conclusions from test results, and to participate in "design for test" planning and review from the early stages of RF product development.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Other duties may be assigned.

    1. Work with the technical team to make test plans for PCBs, system level performance, integrated RF systems.
    2. Develop test architectures and test systems, including equipment selection, test fixtures, data logging methodology, and interfaces.
    3. Design and execute tests at the prototype, qualification, and acceptance stages.
    4. Plan and execute board-level verification tests, such as high-speed signal integrity, digital link characterization, RF system performance, power supply performance, and performance over temperature.
    5. Design and develop systems for testing complex integrated hardware and software, particularly for passive microwave instruments.
    6. Advise the design engineering team on design-for-testability (DFT).
    7. Evaluate and document test results, presenting them to key stakeholders.
    8. Contribute to the continuous improvement of in-house tools, such as test software and documentation templates.
    9. Perform Spectral Measurements with VNA / Spectrum Analyzer.
    10. Perform integrated instrument testing with Python Scripts.
    11. Interface with external bus suppliers on measured system performance as it related to the ICD.

    QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    1. RF Testing
    2. Power Supply Measurements
    3. Characterization of supply start-up transients
    4. Board bring up checking power supply tolerances
    5. Using electronic load to test power supply performance

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    1. Experience with Waveguide Assemblies
    2. Knowledge of how to perform Y-Factor testing with Noise Source as well as LN2 / Ambient Absorber targets

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

    1. B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or relevant engineering discipline;
    2. 2+ years of relevant experience in a commercial environment.

    1. This job operates in a professional office environment and laboratory setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones, as well as lab equipment.
    2. Normal office environment. The noise level in the work environment varies between quiet and moderate.
    3. This is a full-time position, in-office. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position may require the occasional long hours and weekend work when deadlines are approaching.
    4. Ability to work hybrid/remote, as approved.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Our commitment to your success is enhanced by our competitive full-time salary of $75,000 - $92,000, with total compensation including stock options and benefits, plus potential to earn an annual bonus and merit increase.
