    The Role


    Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) is a high growth area in our business that unlocks an electric distribution utility's ability to monitor, manage, control, and optimize the grid.

    As an ADMS Automation Engineer, you will support ADMS delivery teams and Utility customers by providing automation services throughout the entire project lifecycle.

    You will develop and enhance scripts, build harnesses leveraging testing frameworks, and analyze results to improve delivery quality and efficiency.

    As a highly skilled individual contributor, you will be a trusted advisor able to engage with all levels of customers (internal and external) to ensure successful implementation of ADMS solutions.

    You will have the opportunity to work with functional teams including ADMS Application Engineers, the Architecture and Product Solution teams, and our Software Development organization.

    This exciting role will report to the Manager, ADMS DevOps & Automation.

    Your Impact


    Take a lead role in the creation and deployment of automated testing tools such as Locust, K6, Python, and other frameworks developed by AspenTech.

    Contribute in strategic initiatives to optimize deployment processes for project systems to enhance both efficiency and effectiveness.
    Design and document development standards to be leveraged for long term efforts.

    Serve as a Subject Matter Export (SME) for automation solutions to effectively guide internal teams, 3rd party collaborators, and customer technical experts with best practices and standards.

    Proactively engage in automated non-functional testing to pinpoint limitations and areas for enhancement in both AspenTech's Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and the associated test frameworks.

    Collaborate closely with development teams to maintain a consistent and comprehensive approach to product testing, ensuring optimal performance and quality.

    Assume responsibility for optimizing and managing a comprehensive suite of internal ADMS Delivery scripts, encompassing simulation, configuration validation, custom solutions, and other critical functionalities, ensuring they remain efficient, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational standards.

    What You'll Need

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
    3 years of experience with scripting using languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, or PowerShell.
    Experience in automation, Web Services, RESTful APIs, leading design workshops, version control systems (Git or Subversion).

    Strong understanding and knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems, networking, firewalls, load balancers, TCP/IP, security standards.

    Familiarity with database technologies, SQL and MongoDB preferred.
    Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to multi-task on several projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment.
    Strong commitment to providing superior customer service.
