    Summary

    The purpose of this level II position is to perform overall guidance, administrative and technical support in the Geographic Information Systems Group.

    This position is responsible for security, systems analysis, programming, data interoperability, safety, operations, and training of personnel. Responsible for performing system enhancements, upgrades, develop new applications, and monitor adherence to GIS standards.

    Ability to Interact with users to gather input for the design of new and GIS enhanced applications and ability to understand and contribute to the District's vision, values and business objectives.


    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    General Responsibilities (Broad responsibilities that are consistent across job families)

    • Assist in system enhancements, upgrades, develop new applications, and adhere to monitor GIS best practices.
    • Provide technical expertise and support to users as it relates to entering and retrieving data, performing analysis, accessing reports as well as other system functionality.
    • Operate latest versions of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, JavaScript, Python
    • Work with latest ESRI ArcGIS suite of products, Web-based mapping technologies.
    • Perform work with advanced cartography, analysis, and parcel mapping concepts.
    • Communicate, collaborate, and train all divisions to improve workflow functionality and efficiencies.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Minimum Requirements
    EDUCATION/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS &
    WORK EXPERIENCE

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree with a major emphasis in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience is required.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • 2-4 years' experience in a GIS analyst capacity using relevant software
    • Prior experience working in the public sector is preferred.

    Working Conditions and Physical & Mental Abilities

    • Positions in this class typically require repetitive motions, sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time in an office setting
    • Position requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment with ability to effectively communicate by phone with co-workers or face to face
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pound file boxes
    • The position requires considerable concentration and ability to manage time effectively
    • The position is subject to stress caused by mandatory deadlines and heavy workload
