    Main Purpose of Job

    Provides clinical case management, direct\rindividual, group and family therapy, and clinical advice and support to a\rcaseload of approximately seven adolescents in a residential treatment center\rfor emotionally disabled adolescents.

    This position requires someone who\rdemonstrates specific expertise in understanding the symptoms and treatments\rfor clients with diagnoses which are typically seen in emotionally disturbed\radolescents.

    This position requires someone who can work effectively with a\rtreatment team made up of nursing/residential, educational and rehabilitation\rstaff as well as social workers, psychologist and psychiatrists to provide\rservices that are family driven and youth guided.

    The incumbent of this position must also be\rable to generate the extensive documentation such as treatment plans, progress\rnotes and reports required in a contemporary mental health context.

    REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATES:
    \r1. In accordance with Health Occupations Title 17 and Code of Maryland Regulations , a candidate placed in this classification must be licensed as a Graduate Professional Counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.\r2. Employees certified as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) may practice graduate professional counseling for 2 years under the supervision of an approved supervisor. As required by the Maryland State Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, these employees must possess certification as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) by the end of this 2 year period.\r3. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
