    Title: Physical Therapist – Acute Care Hospital

    Location: Pleasant Prairie, WI

    Duration: 13 Weeks

    Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide 1:1 patient care in an acute care hospital setting
    • Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans
    • Treat adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
    • Average daily caseload: 8–9 patients
    • Float as needed within facility
    • Perform comprehensive patient assessments including:
      • AROM/AAROM/PROM
      • Pain assessment
      • Skin integrity assessment
      • Strength testing
      • Identification of environmental barriers
    • Develop and document:
      • Initial evaluations
      • Plan of care
      • Short- and long-term goals
      • Reassessments
      • Discharge summaries
    • Provide gait training and extremity/spinal mobilization
    • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, medications, safety, injury prevention, and recognizing signs/symptoms of abuse
    • Maintain appropriate billing documentation (Commercial, Medicaid, Medicare B, Private Pay, Workers Compensation)
    • Utilize equipment including crutches, gait belt, and standard walker
    • Maintain strong time management and documentation skills

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 1 year Acute Care Physical Therapy experience (Inpatient required)
    • Active Wisconsin PT license (must be obtained prior to start; pending accepted at submission)
    • BLS certification
    • Experience treating orthopedic and spinal conditions including:
      • Low back pain
      • Sciatica
      • Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD)
      • Degenerative Joint Disease (DJD)
      • Osteoarthritis
      • Rheumatoid Arthritis
      • Cervicalgia
      • Ankle sprains
      • Hip fractures/injuries
      • Knee injuries/tendinopathy
      • Frozen shoulder
      • Post-op shoulder repair
      • Total hip replacement
      • Total knee replacement
    • Experience with spinal conditions and mobilization
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care hospital environment
    • First-time travelers not accepted
    • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
    • Ability to float as required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous Charge experience
    • Epic charting experience
    • Experience with post-op cervical and spinal surgeries
    • Sports medicine experience
    • Outpatient clinic experience
    • Wisconsin license in hand at time of submission
