    SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the State Director, the Program Manager has a multi-functional role rooted in youth empowerment and development, with specific responsibilities in AmeriCorps member management, youth program execution, and community engagement. Experience with youth and community work, volunteer supervision, and event logistics would allow the Program Manager to successfully meet position goals.

    All Changeist staff work toward organizational high-priority and operational goals, with a specific emphasis on building relationships with all members of the community, centering youth and their families, as well as including community and service partners. In addition to our Saturday leadership development program, the Program Manager will collaborate to lead events and committees in support of our youth outcomes.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Development of a meaningful AmeriCorps experience: Work with a dynamic program team to manage work streams and coach AmeriCorps members, supporting their day-to-day activities and overall experience and development in building safe spaces for youth. Support the HR team with recruitment of AmeriCorps members. Support the learning and professional development of members.
    • Program development: Collaborate with the Los Angeles Programs Team and Stockton AmeriCorps members to create curriculum for middle school students, high school students, and near peer adults on various social justice topics and organizational values such as intersectional feminism; community care and interdependence; and consent and healthy relationships.
    • Program implementation: With AmeriCorps members, implement all aspects of the program from youth recruitment to Saturday program operations. Use youth weekly survey feedback to adjust programming as necessary to meet the needs of youth enrolled in the program. (Note: Our Program team works on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule during months of youth programming.)
    • Community engagement: With Community Engagement Manager, lead members in the support of professional relationship building with partner organizations.
    • Parent/Guardian engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with the parents/guardians of youth participants, ensuring regular communications of important safety and program information.
    • Evaluation: Work with Chief Operating Officer and programs team to implement program evaluation tools and liaise with AmeriCorps members and youth to ensure participation.
    • Collaborate in analyzing and interpreting data and making program adjustments
    • Reporting: Track progress toward goals and report to leadership team regularly
    • Office management support: Serve as a main local point of contact for Huddle Cowork & Create staff, ensure our team utilizes the office space in a professional manner, and maintain cleanliness and organization of office spaces.
    • Professional development: Commit to professional development opportunities that support the effectiveness of the Program Manager role, including continuous understanding and growth within the field of youth development and empowerment.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Three to five years of experience working with youth, social justice organizations, or organizing in communities of color; familiarity of Stockton strongly preferred. Demonstrated commitment to centering people who face multiple axes of marginalization.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with experience leading and collaborating with diverse, intergenerational teams. Experience building relationships with external organizations highly desired. Experience youth-centered organizations a plus.
    • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including experience leading difficult conversations with diverse audiences of varying backgrounds and experience levels.
    • Self-directed, strategic thinker with ability to manage short-term and long-term plans and goals, with a record of achieving results. Project management and organizational skills, including ability to handle multiple tasks and think critically.
    • Strong and efficient use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required, knowledge of databases and relationship management systems a plus.
    • Experience with data collection and analysis.
    • AmeriCorps experience is a plus.
