Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This role encompasses the essential job functions necessary for quality patient care and accurate imaging.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors based on individual patient needs.
• Restricts radiation beam to minimize exposure to unaffected parts of the patient.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in various settings including patient rooms and emergency rooms.
• Identifies patient films accurately, marking each film according to the side taken.
• Develops exposed x-ray film using available processing methods.
• Maintains orderly work conditions in the x-ray room as directed.
• Assists in preparing and administering radiopaque contrast media to patients under the direction of a physician.
• Handles administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, film filing, and maintaining records.
• Provides support to patients based on their individual needs, assisting with movements as required.
• Identifies and addresses the specific needs of the diverse patient population served.
• Adheres to the standards in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology and clinical requirements.
• Must have a New Jersey State License.
• Ability to meet the requirements for the National Registry and pass the necessary examination.
