    Overview: We are seeking an experienced and talented Fine Dining Executive Chef to lead our culinary team in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests at the Peninsula Grill. The ideal candidate will have low country cuisine knowledge with a passion for food, a creative culinary vision, and the ability to manage a kitchen operation effectively.

    Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, local flavors, and current food trends while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Lead and manage the culinary team, including hiring, training, and scheduling staff, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and overseeing food storage and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with F&B Director, restaurant managers, and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless and exceptional guest experiences, including coordinating menu planning and execution for private events and special occasions.
  • Manage food costs and labor expenses to meet budget targets while delivering high-quality cuisine and exceptional service.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and continually refine and improve the culinary program.
    Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef in an upscale restaurant or hotel environment.
  • Strong culinary skills and a passion for food and innovation.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor a team.
  • Experience managing food costs and labor expenses to meet financial targets.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food handling and storage practices, and kitchen sanitation standards.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Pastry Knowledge
    Skills:
  • Proficient in Birchstreet - E Commerce, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet search

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and provide recommendations
  • Must effectively communicate at all business levels, both internal and external
  • Ability to multi-task and make independent effective decisions
