Job summary
This posting will be used to fill a current vacancy in the Street and Drainage Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department within the City of Oklahoma City.An eligibility list will be established or supplemented for filling future vacancies per provisions of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This job is under the direction of an immediate supervisor.
The primary responsibility of this classification is to serve as a member of a crew while providing general and semi-skilled labor for construction,maintenance,and repair projects.As crew members,employees work closely and cooperatively to complete tasks.Employees typically work under close supervision but may complete routine tasks independently upon receiving verbal instructions.Workers in this classification will use previously acquired knowledge and skillsand must always follow safety regulationsand procedures..
Responsibilities
- Performing general and/or semi-skilled labor associated with construction,maintenance or repair projects using a varietyof powerhand tools.
- Operating heavy power tools such as jackhammersconcretesawstruck-mounted cranes etc.
- Driving equipment that requires commercial licensuresuch as platform ortandem dump trucks pothole patching trucks box trucks etc.
- Preparingandassembling materials,toolsandequipmentfor transporttowork sites.Assisting co-workersinthe completionofdailytasks.Performingother dutiesas assigned..
