    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS include the following but are not limited to:
    • Implement administrative policies and procedures to assure appropriate resident admission in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
    • Implement an organized and accurate record keeping system for resident admission, discharge and bed hold.
    • Gather sufficient pre-admission data to determine resident level of care and the ability of the facility to properly care for the resident.
    • Interview potential residents and residents' representatives to collect accurate data.
    • Complete pre-admission and admission inquiry forms accurately.
    • Ability to collect accurate data for all payer sources.
    • Ability to interact with discharge planners in an effective, efficient manner. Ask for appropriate and adequate resident information.
    • Ability to analyze the information to determine if the facility can care for the resident adequately.
    • Assign appropriate hospital numbers and room numbers to residents in consultation with the nursing department and administration.
    • Greet and escort the new residents to the assigned nursing unit.
    • Identify potential residents whose needs can be met by the facility. Ability to accept reservations for resident accommodations in an accurate and organized manner.
    • Follow admission, transfer and discharge policies and procedures.
    • Maintain an accurate facility census for all facility departments.
    • Communicate an accurate facility census to all facility departments.
    • Keep accurate records of residents' information; keep all residents' information confidential.
    • Notify appropriate facility a department when a resident is admitted, transferred, discharged or moves from one room to another.
    • Work cooperatively with all facility department supervisors and administrative staff.
    • Explain facility philosophy, policies and procedures to potential and new residents and residents' representatives.
    • Explain the facility admission agreement and all attachments to potential and new residents and residents' representatives.
    • Act as a liaison between transferring institutions and the facility; establish a good rapport with transferring institutions.
    • Refer facility and resident concerns to appropriate individuals.
    • Ability to understand the facility computer system and the software used in this department.
    • Ability to analyze Quality Indicator information related to admissions, discharges and resident case mix to develop and implement the marketing program.
    • Assume Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
    • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.

    • Demonstrate awareness of how the culture of the facility affects our service to the veterans we serve.
    • Assists families and other visitors as needed.
    • Attends/completes required in-services and other required meetings.
    • Come to work in clean, neat attire and consistently present a professional appearance.
    • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
    • Perform all duties assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner.
    • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
    • Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
    • Marketing and or public speaking.

    • Language Ability - Reads and interprets documents. Ability to write simple reports and correspondence Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively; able to read and interpret written information.

    • English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and gramma.

    • Math Ability - Basic knowledge of arithmetic and algebra, and their applications
    • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple written or oral instructions.

    • Planning/Organizing - Prioritizes and plans work activities; advises for additional resources.
    • Attendance/Punctuality - Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
    EDUCATIONS and EXPERIENCE an equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred; previous long-term care experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • RN Nursing License is required.
