    Job Description


    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neonatal ICU position requiring an IL RN license, NICU Level 3-4 and Trauma 1 experience, and proficiency with Epic.

    Responsibilities

    • Work in a Level 3-4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting
    • Provides care for critically ill neonates and supports breastfeeding and baby-friendly practices
    • Required to work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00AM to 7:30PM, three days per week
    • EPIC EMR system is used and prior experience is required
    • Responsible for comprehensive neonatal nursing assessments, care planning, intervention, and documentation
    • Assists in medication administration, monitoring intake and output, and multidisciplinary rounds
    • Provides support for mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices
    • RTO (time off) not to exceed 7 days for a 13-week contract
    • Assignment cannot exceed 1 year continuously; 6-month break required before returning
    • Scrub or dress code details specific to the unit apply
    • Travel partners are not accepted for this assignment

    Requirements

    • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
    • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
    • Minimum 2-3 years of recent NICU experience in a Level 3-4 environment
    • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting required
    • Current BLS (AHA) and NRP (AHA) certifications required
    • Fluency in English (speak, read, write)
    • Must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
