Dixon is looking for a Screw Machinist to join our team in Westmont, IL. Candidate will be operating two Acme Gridley screw machines simultaneously. Candidate should have previous experience on screw machines. Should be able to use tools, read blueprints and have familiarity with parts inspection. Applicants should be able to maintain a clean and safe work area, and must be able to follow all processes and procedures related to machine operations and inspections. Individuals must be open to perform other duties as required to support manufacturing processes. Three+ years of experience is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience with thread rolling, form tools, circular chasers, recess tools and other tooling attachments
• Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical problems involved with screw machines
• Able to use shop mathematics, drawings, and measuring tools
• Set up and run Screw Machines
• Participate in training and learn about Dixon products
• Work safely around equipment and co-workers
• Daily maintenance activities
• Work as part of a team

• Ability to use tooling attachments such as circular chasers and form tools
• Ability to use hand tools and read blue prints
• Ability to use measuring tools and shop mathematics
• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds over the course of a shift
• Willingness to learn new things
