How You Can Make an Impact The Quality Assurance and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plans, directs and coordinates activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality and food standards for industrial processes, materials, and products at our Hutchinson facility.

Organize and audit product quality and food safety programs throughout the entire process. Oversee complete and accurate recordkeeping of all facets of the quality, food, and safety programs. Monitor production methods, in-process product quality, sanitation, and product risk-management. Investigate and respond to customer complaints.

This position is expected to focus on Quality Assurance approximately 75% of the time and Safety approximately 25% of the time.

A Day in the Life:

Responsible for implementation, review, maintenance, and training of the Quality, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI), FSC, SFII, Food Safety and EHS (OSHA, DOT, EPA) programs.

Review and maintain Quality Manuals, Food Safety Plans, EHS manuals and update documentation within required frequencies. Establish a program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Responsible for ensuring all measuring equipment is compliant and meets calibration requirements.

Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devices, and methods to assess cost and responsibility.

Maintain the Material Review Area to ensure all products are distributed promptly. Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. Lead and be an active participant in audits by independent agencies, customers, or buyers. Conduct and initiate inspections of all plant areas for sanitation and safety purposes under HACCP guidelines. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $75,000-105, Pay is based on a variety of complex factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Depending on the position, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of robust medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and life insurance benefits.

Qualifications Capabilities & Experience:

Basic Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance and food safety position in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in the folding carton/packaging industry.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in Quality Assurance, GMP's, HAACP, Sanitation, Process Improvement, and/or Plant Safety programs will be beneficial. Proven ability to lead, make decisions, facilitate change, manage conflict and demonstrate strong people skills. Preferred Qualifications Our teammates come from diverse backgrounds that help us innovate new possibilities daily. While the qualifications listed below are preferred, they are not required. ISO 9001:2015 and SQF Auditor certified preferred Paperboard folding carton industry experience preferred.
