    Summary



    About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Cavazos, TX.

    This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.

    A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

    Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

    Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.



    Duties

    • Employ psychological techniques for the treatment of chronic pain and psychological conditions associated with pain.
    • Utilize non-pharm modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, biofeedback, physical self-regulation/relaxation, imagery, education about chronic pain conditions, the factors that affect them, and the range of treatment options available for them.
    • Formulate diagnostic and treatment plans and recommendations for treatment teams consisting of physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, clinical pharmacists, and others.
    • Plan presentations and lectures as part of training of postdoctoral students, physicians, and interns and presents lectures to students.
    • Conduct clinical research and maintain up to date knowledge of specialized professional literature and scientific findings.
