    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:


    Coordinates/Provides nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

    The primary patients provided care at SGMH are adults and geriatric patients.

    The Resource Nurse must be competent in the assessment of adult/senior patients for appropriate behavior, motor skills and psychological norms.

    He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical.

    Pediatric patients are occasionally admitted, therefore, the resource nurse must also be competent in the assessment and care of children, including age-appropriate behavior, motor skills, and physiological/psychological developmental norms.

    He/she must be cognizant of safety, treatment/medication and immunization concerns of this age group as well as adults.




    REQUIREMENTS:


    Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with diploma, associate degree, or BSN.

    Current active license in the State of California. Recent health care experience in an acute hospital setting.

    Prefer 1-3 years experience within acute care within the last 18 months. 5 years acute care experience with at least 3 years in a specialty area. Maintains BLS, ACLS, PALS & NIHSS Stroke/Scale Certifications required upon hire. The RN must possess ability of high degree of adaptability, flexibility and customer service skills. Basic Computer Skills.

    PAY / BENEFITS

    Estimated pay:
    $42.00 to $58.00 per hour based on qualifications (including but not limited to experience, education, certifications, and licensure where applicable).
