- Initiate sales and marketing calls to prospective or current clients
- Attend industry trade shows and perform online research for potential new prospects (such as LinkedIn)
- Follow up on customer referrals and existing contacts in the company's database
- Connect with prospective customers and also identify decision-maker(s) or influencer(s)
- Analyze prospective customers' needs through customer calls and/or meetings
- Develop customer solutions and pricing
- Design, develop, and present proposals
- Collaborate with Senior Management on proposals with high annual value to examine potential issues and mitigate risk
- Monitor new customer startup requirements and advocate for the customer
- Conduct periodic business reviews to evaluate pricing, address any open issues, and ensure all agreed upon terms are mutually fulfilled

The Sales Manager is responsible for directing and managing the company's sales operations. This includes identifying and qualifying new customers (including risk management), negotiating sales contracts, managing customer relationships, and helping to establish and meet the company's profit goals. The Sales Manager collaborates with Finance, Operations, and other departments to fulfill sales orders while ensuring the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting Structure
The Sales Manager reports directly to the Vice-President.
Basic Job Requirements/Desired Skills
· 3-5 years of prior sales management experience in a logistics or manufacturing environment strongly preferred
· Proficiency in the use of desktop and web-based computer applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Warehouse Management System, Internet research)
· Strong analytical skills and ability to discern detailed customer requirements
· Knowledge of industry regulations to educate and protect the company and its customers
· Skillful negotiation, presentation, and closing abilities
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Able to build, establish, and maintain high quality customer relationships that result in mutual profitability
· Strong customer focus
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· College degree preferred
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
- Proven experience in sales management, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in technology sales or related industry is a plus
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective sales strategies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
