JOB SUMMARY

As the Marketing Director – Hair Color + Salon, you are responsible for the development and execution of the overall hair color marketing strategy for R+Color, collaborating with the Education, Sales, and R+Co cross functional teams to drive brand awareness, increase market share and maximize sales in our professional salon channel, globally. This role requires a blend of traditional marketing expertise, professional salon experience and trade marketing savvy to effectively engage salon professionals, distributor partners and consumers. In addition, this role will be customer facing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Brand Management: Build and enhance the brand identity through disruption, compelling messaging, creative campaigns, and consistent brand positioning.
Product Marketing: Lead new product launch market execution, including go-to-market strategies, collaboration on education collateral, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
Trade Marketing: Collaborate with R+Color head of sales and R+Co field sales team to drive product adoption and sales to salons as well as be the marketing lead with key global distributors.
Colorist/Consumer Engagement: Drive engagement with BOTH colorist AND consumers through digital marketing initiatives, social media campaigns, influencer partnerships, and experiential trade & marketing events
Market Analysis: Ongoing competitive analysis to identify need gaps, growth opportunities, market trends, and colorists/consumer preferences.
Budget Management: Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including education, sales, product development, and operations to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.
Team Dynamics: Be part of and nurture a culture of creativity, innovation, collaboration, fast spaced environment and exponential growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

5-10 years' experience in professional salon business; Sales experience a plus
Proven experience in marketing leadership roles within the beauty industry, with a focus on professional haircare or hair color brands
Fluency in professional hair color, haircare & styling and general hair concepts
Beauty retail experience a plus
Strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing, influencer marketing, trade show execution, education marketing and in salon marketing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Creative thinker with a passion for innovation, disruption, and a strong eye for design and aesthetics.
Results-driven mindset with a track record of driving growth and achieving sales targets.
Action oriented and strong project & time management skills
Works effectively and efficiently cross-functionally and values a team environment.
Calm and collected under pressure and able to work in a fast-moving environment
Must have the ability to travel at least 50% of the time and work weekends
Self-motivated with a passion for succeeding
Capable of working independently with flexibility and ability to embrace change
Honesty, integrity, trustworthiness and dependability

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Participate in and contribute to the development and execution of the training for the internal sales teams.
Participate in product testing and communication development
Collaborate with the Director of Education and Education Content Manager to develop hair color curriculums for in-salon, studio, virtual and events.
Social content creation (with salons, internal, team, etc.)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lifting: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
Standing: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Sitting: Must be able to remain in the seated, stationary position throughout workday.
