    The Technical Product Manager is responsible for leading the definition of success of digital platform products. This role ensures the highest value initiatives in line with our strategic themes are identified, defined, and prioritized, while ensuring the expectations around cost are being managed.

    In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for defining and executing the product strategy for our API platform products. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs, align with enterprise trends, and bring new API platform products to market. In addition, this role will be responsible for managing the Product Owners within this platform.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    Strategy & Planning
    • Champions strategic product initiatives from opportunity identification and quantification (business case), prioritization, ideation, development and commercialization.
    • Ensures products are developed within deadlines to meet company and customer objectives.
    • Defines product strategy, vision, and roadmap that aligns with company goals and addresses customer needs.
    • Works closely with cross-functional teams to understand customer needs.
    • Facilitates highly collaborative design workshops for newly identified domain APIs.
    • Maintains alignment with the portfolio vision, solution vision, budget, and other guardrails.
    • Identifies value and outcomes desired by customers, seeking to optimize enterprise value.
    • Translates new and existing capabilities into actionable requirements for delivery.
    • Works with the delivery team to plan product feature releases.
    • Manages all aspects of in-life products, including customer feedback, requirements, and issue resolution.
    Acquisition & Deployment
    • Responsible for Product Ownership role within the product portfolio assigned.
    • Provide product oversight for multiple product capabilities.
    • Manage multiple projects, assignments, and priorities simultaneously.
    • Facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items.
    • Develop business cases, make recommendations, and define success factors for major product enhancements.
    • Provide Product Owner with timely technical recommendations to aid in strategic decision regarding the product.
    Operational Management
    • Responsible for managing and prioritizing the product backlog.
    • Ensures features the product backlog contain clear benefit hypotheses and acceptance criteria.
    • Ensures features are prioritized for program increment planning sessions.
    • Accepts features, evaluating for completeness as implemented by the delivery teams.
    • Synchronize frequently with the Product Owner, providing them with accurate business and platform context.
    • Understand business processes and answers questions on relationships between source system, data warehouse and API services.
    • Ensures API products are consistently delivering value to customers by defining and measuring value indicators.
    • Negotiates capacity allocation to balance the concentration of enabler features.
    Incidental Functions
    • Assist with projects as may be required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
    • Attend business partner and IT staff meetings where appropriate.
    • Attend meetings on behalf of the team.
    • Make presentations to management, partners, and peer groups as requested.
    • Train and share knowledge with development teams in cross functional capacities.
    • Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.
    Qualifications

    Formal Education & Certification
    • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years in experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business).
    Knowledge & Experience
    • 12+ years IT or business experience.
    • 6+ years of experience managing direct reports.
    • 3+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on API products.
    • Knowledge of API design, development, and management best practices.
    • Strong experience developing product roadmaps.
    • Technical product management or product owner experience.
    • Experience with Agile Methodologies and roles.
    • Strong experience with highly effective cross-functional team management.
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience designing API platform or similar products.
    • Experience working in an agile software development environment.
    • Understanding of OpenAPI specification.

    • Excellent ability to effectively move forward on tasks even with ambiguous or changing requirements.

    This position works from the office three days a week and has the option to work remotely two days a week.
