    National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) is the national source for air, space, and cyberspace intelligence. By working with us, you'll help discover and characterize the capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities of our nation's enemies. As a NASIC employee, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of experts, working together to solve technical challenges. The organizational location of this position: National Air & Space Intelligence Center (NASIC)(HAF/A2/6), Geospatial & Signatures Intelligence Group (GS), Persistent Infrared Analysis Squadron (GSP), Intelligence Support Flight, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio.

    You must be a US citizen to be eligible for a position at NASIC, and you must be able/willing to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed upon hire.

    The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a multi-source intelligence analyst engaging in the complex technical analysis and production of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of customer requirements. Provides/enables integrated intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to collect, process, exploit, and disseminate (PED) accurate and timely information that provides the battle space awareness necessary to combatant commanders and other customers to successfully plan and conduct operations.

    Responsibilities

    • Serves as an intelligence analyst engaging in complex technical analysis and production of information obtained by infrared sensors.
    • Performs as a subject matter expert on infrared sensor data production and advises Flight Commander, Principal Intelligence Analyst and/or Senior Intelligence Analyst, Team Leads, and Squadron Commander on high priority events.
    • Uses Persistent Infrared Squadron tools to perform end-to-end extraction workflows and processes.
    • Conducts data discovery, signal and image processing, tracking, extraction, quality control, and dissemination of daily production tasks.
    • Tests and evaluates analytic software and tools, reporting findings to research and development or system support divisions.
    • Performs in-depth analysis to solve difficult and unique problems, improve quality, efficiency, and tradecraft to advance mission capabilities.
    • Identifies and proposes solutions to leverage data improvements, production management prioritization and to maximize resources and to address sensor challenges.
    • Presents ISR capabilities to a variety of service, national, and coalition customers. Provides Commanders and other customers the intelligence information and analysis derived from ISR assets.
    • Serves as a functional authority on ISR issues for leadership. Represents the Agency in meetings with planners from other MAJCOMs, Air Staff, DoD, National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA); Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other national agencies.
    • Fulfills the role of Team Lead, when necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of the full range of intelligence research and collection methods, techniques, and practices to use multi-source intelligence information systems to capture data in order to make recommendations in developing intelligence capabilities and threat assessments to interpret policy and commit resources.
    • Knowledge of advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods to produce detailed analyses of complex information/situations attained from multiple sources, to include database manipulation.
    • Knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, DoD structure, organizations, and mission/functions, inter-relationships, and operations.
    • Skill in conducting unbiased complex research, identifying appropriate available systems/data sources, and producing collection requirement assessments that answer specific tasks to link and leverage agency capabilities in support of consumers, customers, and clients.
    • Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.
    • Ability to maintain control of classified material, quickly assimilate disparate data, render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data, and make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience and present and/or defend a position effectively.

    Conditions of Employment

    • U.S. Citizenship Required
    • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
    • Position is designated special-sensitive, and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
    • PCS expenses may be authorized IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations Recruitment incentives may be authorized
    • This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
    • Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic drug testing.
    • Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
    • Employee must maintain current certifications

    • The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
    • The work is primarily sedentary. Items carried typically include briefcases, notebooks, working papers, references, data print outs, and suitcases. A moderate amount of standing and walking is required in getting to and from meetings and
    • The workspace is adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. There is occasional noise from office equipment, such as printers, fax machines, and telephones. The employee is required to perform in varying office and meeting environments.
    • The incumbent observes normal safety precautions when working in and travelling away from the work site.
