Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and support the service planning team to ensure consistent performance and productivity.
- Develop and oversee daily and weekly route plans for drivers and equipment.
- Optimize routes to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and meet service commitments.
- Monitor service levels, on-time performance, and key operational metrics.
- Coordinate with dispatch, drivers, maintenance, and customer service teams to resolve service issues.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Review and approve schedule adjustments, load assignments, and special service requests.
- Analyze transportation data and provide reporting on productivity, utilization, and service trends.
- Assist in workforce planning, including scheduling, coverage, and peak demand forecasting.
- Serve as the escalation point for planning-related issues and customer service concerns.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or business preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in transportation planning, dispatch, or logistics operations.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of route optimization, scheduling systems, and transportation management software (TMS).
- Understanding of DOT regulations and transportation compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
