    The Department currently has an opening for one permanent full-time Trust Officer Assistant (Administrative Specialist 1) within the Aging Veterans Services section of ODVA in Salem, Oregon.

    This position does not currently support a remote work schedule. There may be times special projects assigned to this position will allow some remote work. Remote work is evaluated periodically to ensure business needs are being met and can be adjusted at any time. Please visit the state's website for more information.

    As the Trust Officer Assistant, you will assist the Trust Officer to carry out the Director's obligation as conservator. After budgets are in place, this position will pay routine bills within budgeted guidelines. This position will respond to simple requests for funds from and for protected persons. This position will work with medical providers, merchants, utility companies, government agencies, and other community resources to ensure that obligations are met and benefits are received.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Two years of secretarial or basic administrative support experience that includes records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR

    An associate degree in general office occupations and one year of experience with records processing, generating documents, and gathering and sorting data; OR

    An equivalent combination of education and experience.

    REQUESTED SKILLS:

    In addition to your related work experience and education, we will use the requested skills below to determine whom to interview.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team driven environment
    • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
    • Experience assisting vulnerable and challenging populations
    • Certified National Guardian

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    As a condition of employment, the person in this position must:

    • Authorize and successfully pass a credit check revealing no history of bankruptcy filing
    • Not have been denied or had revoked a professional license that is directly related to responsibilities of a professional fiduciary.
    • Successfully pass a criminal history background check and fingerprint based criminal history background check through the Oregon (LEDS) and (NCIC) systems and driving record check through the DMV system.
    • Be able to pass certification exam and meet related criteria to become a National Certified Professional Guardian as required by ORS
