    THE OPPORTUNITY:


    Reporting to the Director of Research, Grants, and Workforce, the Training and Education Manager works directly with members on recruitment and career path issues, including providing logistical support for assigned committees and department programs with a focus on training and educating future child and adolescent psychiatrists.

    The Training and Education Manager is responsible for serving as the lead for AACAP's Workforce Maps project, establishing and maintaining a MATCH into child and adolescent psychiatry dashboard, and supporting proposal submission efforts for the AIRE shortened pathway proposal to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

    In addition, the Training and Education Manager supports the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation (KTGF) partnership and other programs as needed.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Staff assigned Department Programs and Committee activities.

    Staff liaison to the Training and Education Committee, Taskforce on Recruitment, HIV and Other Pandemics, Advisory Group on Workforce Maps, and training and education related components or activities as assigned.

    Collaborate with Committees and AACAP staff to implement new programs and improve existing programs to meet training and education goals.

    Track training and education issues that directly affect AACAP membership.
    Collaborate with the Assistant Director and Membership Department on medical student and resident member recruitment issues.
    Attend conferences and meetings regarding workforce shortage, resident matching, and other areas as determined by AACAP.
    Serve as point of contact for organizations focused on medical graduate education and resident matching.
    Maintain appropriate list serves.
    Coordinate the assignment of members to activities with the Director's approval.
    Coordinate reporting requirements for the Chairs/co-Chairs of the Committees.
    Staff Committee meetings and make all meeting arrangements including minutes, hotel arrangements, travel, meals, meetings, activities and follow-up.
    Annual meeting arrangements including registration, schedules, ribbons, expense reimbursements, workbooks and special events.
    Coordinate related Annual Meeting programming and residency program director event.
    Work with department staff to manage Educational Outreach Program award reimbursement process.
    Coordinate related evaluations and progress reports.
    Update website information.
    Monitor committee budgets.

    Manage Departmental Evaluation Projects

    Manage AACAP Resident MATCH Dashboard and share data in an annual summary and infographics for government affairs, training directors, and AACAP leadership.

    With support from the Membership Department track medical student members who have matched in psychiatry and track general psychiatry resident members who have matched into CAP Fellowship.

    Serve as direct liaison with National Resident MATCH Program.
    Work with consultants to update workforce maps and develop summary/infographic on utilization and access to care.

    Serve as liaison for the Taskforce on Recruitment that is submitting a proposal to ACGME for a shortened training pathway to child and adolescent psychiatry.

    Annual Meeting or virtual programming focused on the child and adolescent psychiatry workforce shortage.
    Respond to requests for information in a timely manner.

    Oversee the day-to-day administration of The Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation Medical Student Fellowship Program Evaluation.
    Communicate with program directors and student leaders.
    Work with the Program Coordinator on survey development and analysis.
    Participate with Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation sponsored events.
    Assist with longitudinal evaluation projects.

    Manage the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation Medical Student Fellowship Program.
    Maintain fiscal and supervisory responsibility for all the Foundation's programs.

    Administer and oversee the online grants renewal process and work with the Foundation staff to make decisions about renewals and to execute those decisions.

    Update related report forms and reporting process, as necessary.
    Compile information for the annual report to KTGF.
    Draft, with input from KTGF and its advisors, a Request for Applications for new medical student programs.
    Conduct the Request for Applications process and work with KTGF and advisors on reviewing new applicant programs.
    Handle correspondence with candidates and grantees.
    Work with the Program Coordinator to establish regular communication among programs.
    Provide support to, and more generally oversee the progress of all programs.
    Ensure that new schools are incorporated properly into all of the program evaluation components.
    Ensure ongoing communication with the advisory board.
    Attend annual advisory board meetings if needed.

    Support department activities.
    Assist with Department publications.
    Assist the Meetings Department with logistics of committee meetings.
    Respond to requests for information from members and general public.
    Promote membership to students and residents.
    Set up Zoom virtual meetings.
    Participate in Department and AACAP staff functions.
    Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE,


    AND QUALIFICATIONS:
    A bachelor's degree is required preferably in psychology, sociology or health-related field.
    3-5 years related work experience is required.
    Grant or awards management experience is strongly preferred. Experience facilitating Committee activities is also preferred.

    Candidate should possess strong written and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and an interest in children's mental health issues.

    Candidate should have strong experience in managing data and preliminary research and evaluation.
    Solid computer and Office 365 skills.
    Empathetic, open-minded, and inclusive.
    Previous work in non-profit or membership-based organizations is preferred. Some travel is required.
