    Summary:

    Primary responsibility is to direct resources to bring about successful organ and tissue recovery for transplantation once a potential donor is identified. Responsibilities include presenting the donation option, maximizing each donor's organs, recovery and preservation, and providing support and follow-up. Coordinators also support Hospital Development and Public Education programs as directed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Receive and evaluate donor referral calls, identify suitable organs and tissues, and offer the donation option.
    • Coordinate logistical aspects between procurement agencies and transplant centers.
    • Manage ICU medical aspects, organ evaluation, placement, and communication between parties.
    • Handle organ packaging, shipping, and follow-up communication.
    • Provide support to donor families and complete necessary paperwork.
    • Collaborate with hospital development and public education programs.
    • Assist tissue team and perform other duties as needed.

    Requirements:

    • R.N. and/or P.A. training with ICU experience, 1-2 years of relevant work experience, and ability to obtain NATCO certification.
    • Advanced technical, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage high-stress situations and lift 1-80 pounds occasionally.
    • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
    • Flexibility to work on-call 24/7.
