    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to oversee the financial and administrative aspects of projects from inception to completion. The Project Accountant will play a critical role in project set-up, billing, compliance, and project analysis. This position requires strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers to ensure project success.

    Please note: This role offers primarily a work-from-home setup, but does require the Project Accountant to visit two office locations in Los Angeles and Orange counties at least 1x per month and as needed every quarter. The on-site schedule is flexible (day and hours of the Project Accountant's choosing to accommodate traffic).

    Requirements:

    • Proficiency in billing processes is essential
    • Experience with prevailing wage, union, and certified payroll practices is required
    • Experience within the engineering, construction, or the architectural industry
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills
    • Willingness to work overtime as necessary
    • Knowledge of Deltek Vision Software is a plus

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or a minimum of 4 years of experience in project accounting roles

    Responsibilities:

    • Set up new projects and billing terms in the accounting system by contracts and Project Manager directives
    • Monitor project progress and performance, addressing concerns with Project Managers as needed
    • Prepare and review timesheets, field reports, expenses, and invoices accurately and in compliance with contract terms
    • Conduct project analysis and generate reports for Project Managers and CFO
    • Ensure project compliance with contract and labor requirements, including certified payrolls and subcontractor management
    • Handle client billing, collections, and dispute resolution promptly and professionally
    • Complete necessary project-related paperwork, including subcontractor packages and compliance documentation
    • Assist with proposal reviews, cost tracking, and additional administrative tasks as required
