- Carry out various nursing and administrative tasks, and support physicians as needed.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments by guiding them from the waiting area to the examination room, obtaining medical histories, and recording vital signs.
- Clean and organize examination and treatment rooms.
- Administer injections, conduct EKG tests, OB/GYN examinations, and offer other necessary patient care services.
- Keep inventory of samples, administer medications as per physician instructions, and process pharmacy orders.
- Maintain and organize clinical equipment and supplies.
- Assist in responding to phone calls, offering information when requested, and filtering calls for the physicians.
- Help in arranging tests and treatments for patients.
- Contribute to the formulation of policies and protocols.
- Guide patients in establishing self-management objectives, educate them on self-care tasks, and communicate any unusual findings to the medical team.
- Collaborate with patients, doctors, and other team members to assess progress towards the patient's health goals.
- Identify obstacles if patients fail to achieve treatment goals, neglect treatment plans, or miss important appointments.
- Engage in professional development activities and maintain professional memberships.
- Respect patient confidentiality at all times.
- Treat colleagues, visitors, and patients with courtesy and professionalism.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Execute other necessary duties as delegated.
- High school diploma or equivalent and valid certification.
- LPN- graduate from an accredited school and current state licensure. Medical Assistant- current certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) is required or obtained within 90 days of employment.
- At least one year of medical practice experience in a physician's office or a similar setting.
- Current BLS certification mandatory.
- Familiarity with medical practice and procedures.
- Understanding of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room protocols.
- Awareness of common safety hazards and precautions.
- Proficiency in assisting with various treatments and medication administration.
- Capability to record vital signs.
- Ability to develop and uphold clinical quality standards.
- Capacity to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Competence in record-keeping and result reporting.
- Aptitude in interpreting and implementing guidelines and procedures.
- Aptness in exercising sound judgment and remaining composed in emergencies.
- Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, medical personnel, colleagues, and the community.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of arithmetic.
- Proficiency in operating a computer keyboard.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to adhere to established hospital/clinic policies and procedures.
- Ability to sit and stand periodically throughout a 12-hour shift.
- Skill in operating standard office equipment, such as phones and computer keyboards.
- Maintain high accuracy and meet strict deadlines consistently under pressure.
- Utilize manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing continuously.
- Regularly engage in standing, walking, sitting, and require eye/hand coordination and color recognition.
- Reach above shoulder level frequently, lift and carry up to 25 lbs regularly.
- Occasionally walk on uneven surfaces.
