Description
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at North Carolina State University invites applications for two tenure-track positions (12 month appointments) at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the field of immunology.
The successful applicant will perform research in immunology, have the opportunity to participate in teaching immunology courses to DVM and graduate students, and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and DVM students.
The research should focus on any aspect of the immune system, including but not limited to the following areas: immunity to infectious disease (bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic), mucosal immunity, influence of the microbiome on the immune system, applied immunology (vaccine development, tumor immunology, immunopathology).
The successful candidates will have excellent opportunities to collaborate with faculty in the other CVM departments (Molecular Biomedical Sciences and Clinical Sciences), members of the North Carolina State University Comparative Medicine Institute, the North Carolina swine, poultry and ruminant industries if applicable, scientists and clinicians from the medical and graduate schools at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the other institutions within the Research Triangle
