Under the direction of the Chief of the Office of Federal Programs, a Supervising Transportation Engineer, the Senior Transportation Engineer is responsible for providing experienced, authoritative, and professional management of the Highway Bridge Program (HBP).

The Senior Transportation Engineer works in a non-supervisory, specialist capacityprovidingengineering review, direction, and technical assistance in the application and development of law, regulations, policies, and procedures involved in developing projects for the repair, seismic retrofit, rehabilitation, or replacement of approximately 12,000 locally owned bridges.
