    Overview:

    My client who is a leading player in heavy industrial manufacturing is seeking an EHS Manager committed to prioritizing the safety of the facility and its valued team members.

    The EHS Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive EHS programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations, minimize risks, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization. This position will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe work environment, preventing accidents and injuries, and reducing the environmental impact of operations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry best practices.
    2. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards, evaluate existing safety measures, and recommend improvements to mitigate risks.
    3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into operational processes, facility designs, and equipment modifications.
    4. Provide leadership and guidance to site personnel on EHS matters, including training programs, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures.
    5. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
    6. Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting, permit compliance, and participation in inspections.
    7. Lead environmental initiatives to minimize waste generation, optimize resource utilization, and reduce the company's carbon footprint.
    8. Stay abreast of emerging EHS trends, regulations, and technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance EHS performance.
    9. Develop and maintain documentation, records, and reports related to EHS activities, including metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators.
    10. Foster a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement by promoting EHS values and engaging employees at all levels.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
    • Proven experience (5+ years) in EHS management within heavy industrial manufacturing or similar industry.
    • Thorough understanding of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and experience interfacing with regulatory agencies.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving change initiatives.
