    New Hope Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Cedar Park (northwest of Austin) has PRN openings for CMAs. New Hope Manor is seeking qualified Med Aides to join our heath care team PRN. We are a long term care facility, consistently rated 5 stars with all State and Federal agencies. We have an outstanding reputation in the community for providing quality, friendly, and compassionate care for our residents. We always treat our residents with dignity, respect and empathy. Ultimately our goal is to make their stay worthwhile and enjoyable while they are within our care.     The applicants must be willing to give love and compassion to our residents. We are a privately owned and operated 24-hour skilled nursing facility with an in-house rehabilitation department. We offer competitive salary and benefits for qualified applicants.

    PRN: 6am - 2pm & 2pm - 10pm weekdays and weekends

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Accurately prepare, administer, and observe resident for reaction or side effects and document medications as prescribed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

    • Must have completed and passed a state approved Medication Aide Course.

    • Have a current medication aide permit from Texas Department of Health

    • Be in good standing on Nurse Aide Registry and Nurse Assistant Misconduct Registry.

    • Must have current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification in Texas.

    • Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions in English.

    • Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents.

    • Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Accurately prepare, administer and document medications as prescribed. Immediately report any errors to Charge Nurse or Director of Nursing.

    • Accurately take and record vital signs

    • Accurately count and sign medication administration record for controlled drugs.

    • Observe all residents and report anything unusual or abnormal to Charge Nurse. Ability to safely care for residents in a patient and respectful manner despite some resident's lack of cooperation and/or combativeness.

    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance in accordance with facility absence policies.

    • Perform Nurse Aide duties, as directed. This requires the ability to perform the essential functions of a Certified Nurse Assistant with or without accommodations.

    • Promotes positive public relations with patients, residents, family members and guests

    • Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.

    • Use appropriate work place behavior and adhere to dress code at all times.

    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.

    • Observe for and immediately report to Charge Nurse or Shift Supervisor any noted reactions or side effects of medications.
