    About the Role:

    As a Psychiatrist at Sherman Counseling, part of the Optum family of businesses, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and treat a wide variety of mental health conditions. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, and prescribing medications for behavioral health and psychological disorders in an outpatient clinical environment.

    You will interact directly with patients and perform acute and long-term psychiatric care, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and management of mental health conditions, communicating condition information, preventative care, and understanding patient medical history and current mental health status.

    You will create and update treatment plans, document clinical progress, manage medication, monitor patients, provide psychotherapy, intervene in crises, promote mental health awareness, educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare professionals, order and interpret lab tests and diagnostic testing, make referrals, and supervise if applicable.

    Responsibilities:

    * Assess and diagnose mental health conditions
    * Develop and implement treatment plans
    * Prescribe and manage medications
    * Provide individual and group therapy sessions
    * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals
    * Order and interpret lab tests and diagnostic testing
    * Make referrals to specialty services

    Requirements:

    * M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) or D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine)
    * Active, unrestricted Psychiatrist license in the state of Wisconsin
    * Active Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license for prescribing controlled substances
    * Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or ability to obtain within 90 days
    * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    * Eligible to enroll in the Medicare program as a provider or able to terminate opt-out (if applicable)
    * Reside within commuting distance of Appleton, WI

    Preferred Qualifications:

    * 2+ years of clinical experience treating adolescents and/or adults
    * Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation including MS Office Suite and Athena RMS or other Electronic Health Records (EHRs)
    * Knowledge of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
    * Knowledge of Spravato
    * Willingness and ability to be a collaborating physician with PMHNPs
