    Position Overview:
    Represents Sutter Health on design and construction projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation, and retrofitting. Coordinates, monitors, and reports on design and construction activities in accordance with the project controls requirements. Responsible for administering consultant and construction agreements. Facilitates quality control, maintenance of design and construction schedules, construction management, and owner representative responsibilities. Manages teams of external vendors and internal affiliate and service line staff on large scale complex projects.

    Works with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for delivering large scale projects with moderate to difficult complexity.


    Job Description :

    JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
    With extremely limited oversight from supervisor, on medium to large scale projects or on substantial sub-scopes of extremely large-scale projects:

    Develops and maintains project schedules, resources, and budgets.

    Provides monthly updates on risks, scope, schedule and budget and general status in project database

    Maintains project schedule and budget projections for monthly cash flow report.


    Develops, executes, and monitors vendor contracts to ensure that contractual agreements are being met and accurately documented on the vendor invoices.

    Manages project risks associated with schedule, scope, and budget.

    Works on vendor audits.

    Reviews and approves invoices, including pay applications for accuracy and completeness

    Controls project plan and product quality by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.

    Development, monitoring and completion of a project closeout strategy.

    Works with project team to provide regular updates to Sutter Health affiliates

    Meets with and reports to affiliate as needed, typically at least monthly.

    Ensures compliance with Sutter Health and internal departmental standards, policies, and procedures.


    Work with planning and affiliate to define proposed project scope and schedule and objectives within business case parameters and guide package through multiple layers of approval.


    Maintains a strong team culture of accountability and integrity on the projects they manage can identify gaps and work with supervisor to correct.

    Participates in financial meetings.

    Proactively test, analyze benefits, recommend, and implement process improvements.

    Maintains and manages project performance metrics on cost and schedule are accurately entered and categorized in the project database

    Develops and maintains strong working relationships with affiliate representatives, management, and other departments within Sutter Health.

    Takes active role in department wide initiatives to improve departmental performance.

    Ensures their project teams maintain physically and psychologically safe workspaces.

    EDUCATION:
    Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

    Bachelor's:
    Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, or other closely related degree.


    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
    8 years recent relevant experience.


    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
    Excellent knowledge and several years' experience implementing the Last Planner System on healthcare projects in California. Strong familiarity and experience of Lean Construction on healthcare projects.
    Able to build reliable cost estimates and schedules for medium to large scale projects
    Able to assess typical risks to scope budget and schedule for medium to large scale projects.
    Strong familiarity with health care construction building codes and regulations, space programming and allocation cost analysis, jurisdictional approval processes, construction means and methods, construction processes and procedures, and contract implementation

    Strong familiarity with the state level building approval processes including the typical requirements of the Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), the California Office of the State Firm Marshall (OSFM) and The Joint Commission (TJC).

    Strong familiarity with the typical building approval processes at the county and city level.
    Strong competence in project management techniques and software.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as team skills to ensure appropriate communications and coordination across project delivery team, affiliate, and vendors.

    Strong client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between fps and affiliate leadership.

    Awareness of the importance of team culture on team performance and ability to influence and drive it in the right direction.

    Able to lead project teams with integrity and develop strong culture of accountability

    Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the delivery of health care facilities including medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, outpatient surgery centers and psychiatric hospitals from programming through facility activation.

    Demonstration of leadership ability, including the management and delegation of appropriate tasks to technical and non-technical support staff.
    Expertise in project management from design through final completion and licensing on hospital projects

    Pay Range is $76.57 to $122.51 / hour

    The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.

    This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled.

    Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
