Industrial Maintenance Technician

• Chicago based family run foods manufacturer is presently searching for several Industrial Maintenance Mechanics.
• They recently expanded due to an increase in business and is searching for a 3rd shif mechanic
• This facility is 250,000 square feet and has a mix of new and old equipment including: mixers, extruders, high-speed packaging, conveyors, robotics, PLC's, case erectors, palletizers, depalletizers, laser code daters, wrappers, ovens, cooling tunnels, dryers and related equipment.
• Newly created role with the intention of growing the department
• Local candidates only

Position Responsibilities

• Meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer care
• Perform daily / weekly PM's and run projects to ensure equipment is running properly
• Provide efficient troubleshooting and repair equipment to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime
• Maintain and repair all equipment in operation which includes all mechanical troubleshooting
• Potential to grow to a multi-craft mechanic that can troubleshoot both electrical and mechanical breakdowns

Job Qualifications:

Must have the following:

• Must have 2+ years of maintenance manufacturing experience; preferably in a high-speed packaging, processing, mixing, blending or similar food and or consumer packaging environment. But open to any manufacturing maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and quick to react and fix breakdowns
• Experience the following: hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, pumps, valves, belts, pulley's, gearboxes, conveyors, gears, chains, bearings, sensors and related experience required
• Self-motivated, positive attitude, energetic, punctual, hard-working, and eager to be part of a good team

Plus experience:

• Associates or other technical discipline / related maintenance certifications
• Experience with using a preventative maintenance system, SAP or CMMS is preferred
• Able to troubleshoot PLC's, servo's, robotics, VFD's, relays, sensors and switches is a plus
• Experience with pipefitting, boilers or HVAC is a plus
• Able to read blueprints is a plus
