    • About the Unit/Dept: Holy Cross Health provides compassionate, patient-centered birthing care with advanced monitoring and pain-management techniques. As a member of the Labor and Delivery team you will collaborate with obstetricians, laborists, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and nurses, to ensure a successful labor and delivery. With a delivery rate of approximately 10,000 babies annually, Holy Cross in Silver Spring is the leading birthing hospital in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

    • Full-Time
    • Reporting to the Director of Labor & Delivery
    • Performs patient care duties delegated by the RN related to patients' personal needs, comfort, and safety.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides hygiene, mobility, and procedural care across various age groups.
    • Proficient in setting up and using respiratory and cardiac equipment.
    • Utilizes aseptic techniques for various procedures, maintaining isolation standards.
    • Assists Anesthesiologist with epidural and spinal anesthesia placement.
    • Maintains anesthesia supplies, equipment, and cleanliness in patient areas.
    • Orders and stocks routine and specialized supplies.
    • Monitors vital signs and reports to RN for various patient populations.
    • Other duties as assigned

    What you will need

    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Certification as a nursing assistant by the Maryland State Board of Nursing
    • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
