- Assists in overseeing nursing services for a unit/hall, following the Nursing Practice Act, under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Assigns tasks to professional nurses and non-professional nursing staff, and supervises their performance under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Monitors patients for any symptoms or reactions, assessing their overall physical and mental condition for potential adverse changes.
- Helps in contacting the attending physician in case of emergencies or patient demise in the unit. Implements any order changes as directed by physicians.
- Carries out additional responsibilities as designated.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate as a Licensed Practical Nurse from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid and current license from the state's Board of Nursing where employed, with proof of timely license renewal every other year.
- Available to take on responsibilities as charge nurses, and willing to work during emergencies to ensure ample coverage.
- Able to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients, adhere to medical instructions, and exhibit a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
- Renew CPR certification annually.
- Participate in in-service training and mandatory staff meetings.
