We are currently hiring a Structural Engineer to join our Dams and Hydropower Discipline in our Buffalo, NY or Rochester, NY office.
LaBella provides structural engineering services to a various portfolio of clients with emphasis on new design, repair, and rehabilitation of constructed works, as well as investigation and performance evaluation.
In the Dams and Hydropower Discipline, these skills are focused on concrete and embankment dams, waterway structures, powerhouses, and infrastructure associated with reservoirs and hydroelectric power generation.
This position will work closely under the supervision of a Senior Structural Engineer to develop concepts, strategies, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
Individual must be able to work independently, as well as part of multi-discipline teams.

Determine structural loading criteria, perform complex design calculations, and prepare structural specifications
Perform field investigations and condition assessments of hydropower related infrastructure including dams, penstocks, gates/valves, etc. under the guidance of a Senior Structural Engineer
Work closely with other engineering disciplines
Produce construction documents using Revit (BIM) or AutoCAD
Review shop drawings, respond to RFI's and perform field observations during CA phase
Communicate effectively both formally and informally in all typical platforms (in person, written, email, phone, video conference)
Requirements
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with structural coursework
Engineering in Training Certificate (E.I.T.) required
Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering is preferred
0 to 5 years of experience with concrete, steel, masonry, and/or wood design is required
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and structural engineering design software (RISA, SAP, and/or TSD) is required
Technical writing skills related to field investigation/inspection reporting, document development, and emails
Ability to develop, maintain, and format Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
Salary Range:
$55,000 - $65,000 per year
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
