- Synthesis of III-VI semiconductors in addition to the exploration and synthesis of chalcogen and halide based semiconducting materials
- Utilize, strengthen, and expand single crystal growth capabilities which presently include Bridgman, vapor transport, horizontal gradient freeze, and vertical gradient techniques
- Have knowledge of the use and repair of this instrumentation in addition to knowledge of the safe handling of the chemical materials required for synthesis
- Be well-versed in stand characterization techniques and be open to be trained in characterization apparatus to the AFRL facilities Minimum Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science
- Ability to work onsite at government research facility
- Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance (U.S
- 10 years of experience in the field Physical Requirements / Travel
