This position provides referrals and resources to clients, registers clients for services, provides
program information to clients and the general public.
Essential Functions

. Acts as an initial contact point for clients participating in San Diego's Coordinated Entry
System (CES) system.
. Provides information, referral, directions or crisis intervention to clients and the public.
. Provides one-on-one services to clients to meet basic needs.
. Answers and routes phone calls.
. Enters data into the Homeless Management Information System to record client activity and
to ensure proper storage of client-related documents.
. Ensures facility is opened, closed, and cleaned each day.
. Accepts, handles, sorts, and routes resident and agency mail and deliveries.
. Accepts, routes, records, and communicates appointments to staff.
Job Requirements
. High School Diploma or GED
. At least 6 months of customer service experience.
. Basic user of MS Office.
. Participate in an annual Tuberculosis screening and/or other screenings when necessary.

Work Environment
. Work involves frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud
noise, or chemicals, etc.
Physical Demand
. Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at waist.
. Heavy Carrying/Lifting: Physically transporting, raising items from a lower to a higher
position, or moving objects horizontally weighing 45 pounds and over from one location to
another.
. Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on one or both knees.
. Mobility Requirement: Ability to get from one office location to another.
. Reaching above shoulder: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
. Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, fingers, and/or upper body
for sustained periods of time, including using extremities to drag, push, pull or grasp.
. Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time. If essential, please describe for this job.
. Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
. Walking: Moving about on foot, particularly for long distances.
. Visual Requirement: Must be able to read computer screen.
