    We specialize in community, healthcare, corporate, and multifamily projects, serving clients throughout Minnesota and neighboring states. Our expertise includes general contracting, construction management, design-build, and preconstruction services.
    The Director of Finance position is crucial to the financial success of RJM Construction. This role

    directs and

    collaboratively

    formulates long-

    term goals of the organization, advising on long and short-term impacts to the company's long-range strategic

    goals and operational efficiency.

    This role sets the tone for the overall financial position of the Company and provides leadership, management and direction to the accounting team.

    Role and Responsibilities

    Formulate long-terms goals and planning with company management.
    Establish an annual budget for expected revenue and forecasted project margins. Provide quarterly reforecasts throughout the year.

    Provide direct oversight of the development and implementation of financial accounting systems, procedures and controls to ensure the generation of timely, accurate and complete financial information.

    Identify KPI's to measure progress .
    Ensure budgeted recoveries are met for project related margin enhancements and reimbursable personnel.
    Analyze productivity and efficiencies for the accounting department and/or as it relates to company financial health. Implement and/or recommend changes to support areas of deficiency.
    Lead and/or assist with finance negotiations with banks as needed.
    Participate in business succession planning and execution.
    Develop financial models for the company.
    Develop and maintain network of community advisors.
    Review current operations from a financial perspective and suggest changes as needed.
    Hold project teams accountable for company profitability changes.
    Develop and maintain 12-month cash flow projections. Develop and maintain 16-month revenue/profitability forecast.
    Work collaboratively with market sector leaders/executives to analyze project pursuits. Create financial forecasts to identify the ROI and determine project feasibility, work mix and appropriate margin needs.
    Strategically determine appropriate RJM work mix in our markets related to budgeting.
    Apply tax planning concepts.
    Direct set up of whole company budgeting process through collaboration with department manager heads. Monitor and proactively advise leadership when issues are present.
    Consolidate all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
    Provide leadership regarding RJM's long-term incentive program and necessary communications to participants.
    Lead annual payout incentive distribution with Management team.
    Knowledgeable in accounting technology and HRIS systems, with ability to act as advisor on company/department technology needs.
    Assemble and review internal and external financial statements.
    Prepare monthly bond usage reporting for financial packet.
    Support relationships with insurance, SDI and bonding as related to finance and accounting.
    Provide necessary financial documents for RFP responses collaboratively with appropriate personnel.
    Contribute to project manager meetings, demonstrating job profit understanding.
    Direct and coordinate all external audits and regulatory reporting compliance.
    Monitor financial and tax accounting pronouncements and develop plans for appropriate action.
    Actively participates as a member of the Leadership team, driving financial strategic direction.

    Effectively manage, develop and delegate responsibilities to accounting team members ensuring accountability and a high functioning team supporting organizational needs.

    Track historical financial data on various projects based on market, size, etc.

    Participate in monthly project financial reporting meetings, develop margin recovery strategies and help hold accountability for project cash flow and profitability.

    Work with Director of Preconstruction and VP Risk Management to help receive and evaluate financial reporting for Subcontractor Default Insurance program and determine appropriate risk mitigation measures.

    In partnership with HR analyze and make final annual insurance renewal benefit package, weighing overall package cost and the need to keep competitive in the marketplace.

    Leverage financial planning strategies to generate increased bottom line income.
